Our Irving area client is building a new online catalog for members. Oracle RAC will be the database platform for some of the major components of the new system. They have an immediate need to bring in Oracle expertise. Most of the database administration responsibilities will be outsourced to Data Intensity. The candidate will help build and configure the environments. When the system goes live, this person will provide ongoing support and guidance to the remote DBA team. As the new system stabilizes, this position may expand to help cover the clients primary database platform, SQL Server. There will also be ample growth opportunities in the data architecture area. The position will continue to have long-term support requirements.
Requirements:
Oracle Requirements:
- 10+ Years Oracle database administration; 5 + years in complex environment.
- RAC.
- Linux Operating System (RedHat).
- VLDB.
- Proficient scripting skills.
- Oracle Applications (E-Business Suite) nice to have (system currently being sunset).
- Exadata – preferred.
Architecture Requirements:
- Advanced Data Modeling Skills. Must possess advanced skills architecting information at conceptual & logical archetype abstractions.
- Strong technical leadership skills. Able to supervise data developers as they implement physical subtypes that tie back to the enterprise information archetype model.
- ER/Studio experience preferred.
- SQL Server Skills (Preferred).
- SQL Server 2005, 2008, (2008R2 nice to have).
- Multi-node clustering experience preferred.
- Oracle 11i experience General.
- SAN.
- Experience with management of remote technical staff (DBAs).
- Strong mentoring/training skills (will cross-train in-house SQL Server DBAs).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Strong configuration management skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good presentation skills.
