Primary Responsibilities include (but not exclusive to) :
7 X 24 X 365 support for multiple instances in up to 8 regional 3rd party datacenters each around the world (responsibilities shared with 2 other Engineers). Monitor various customer systems (NT/Unix Inprise based); assist in the development and ensure adherance to operational practices of both 3rd party ASP and Central Control Center. Monitor Lights Out/Remote Management capabilities; selection of tools/processes. Appropriate problem escalation; interface with Call Centers for level 2 support; problem diagnostics and reporting and documentation; resolution documentation; troubleshooting application system problems and system intervention; rebooting servers; day to day liaison with remote datacenters; assist in planning and set up (primarily Run Book) of each FI (Financial Insitution) implementation and each regional datacenter. Shift work is required; travel is minimal.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 3 years minimum of IT experience, preferrably in an outsourced IT, Webhosting, Application Service Provider or Vendor environment. Experience in “Hands on” operational support of MS NT/SQL Server based internet based applications and working knowledge of Unix (Solaris); Oracle experience, exposure to supporting CORBA based applications and exposure to start up ISP/ASP operations an asset. Excellent documentation, troubleshooting and communications skills required. Experience developing and building Run Books and operational procedures reuired. Ability to multi-task and set priorities appropriately.
